She Changed My View on Freedom
I was playing with my baby cousin today. She said to me, “Your guy is free because he is happy. Mine can’t be free because he’s never happy.” I had her repeat to me what she just said, for I was in shock. She was only talking about the toys in the game, but to me, that was insightful. My little, 4 year old, cute, baby cousin taught me a lesson. To me, free used to be: not being held down or suffocated, being relaxed, content, and open minded to do what you want, a dorm if expression. But now, since she said that… Freedom isn’t just quite that. To just have the honor of being happy makes a person free, because without happiness, how can one be free?
